While other Linux distributions tout that they offer the latest and greatest, we carefully select stable, known good software packages. And while other Linux distributions perpetually update their software packages, we only release updates for packages when absolutely necessary. Also, we will never force you to update or patch any software.

Another way we enusre stability is by closely managing each software package. Onyx is not a community distribution, so the only packages that make it into the repositories are official Onyx packages. This ensures each package has passed a strict quality control process, and that all software packages work together seamlessly.

You can confidently install Onyx and trust that we will stand behind it for as long as you choose to use it. We will never force you to upgrade, especially if your current release of Onyx is serving all of your needs. After all, if it isn't broke, don't fix it.
