Onyx Standard

Onyx Standard is a Gnome-oriented distribution geared toward advanced Linux users who want a fast, stable operating environment on their Pentium 3/AMD Athlon or newer desktop or workstation. Because Onyx Standard is designed for non-server applications, it is limited to four CPU cores and 4GiB of memory. It also does not include some of the more advanced security features, such as role-based access control and procfs/dmesg restrictions, as it uses a mostly vanilla kernel. Onyx Standard is a little more lax about the types of packages it includes, and operates on a one year release cycle.

Onyx Enterprise

Onyx Enterprise is a console-oriented distribution engineered for long-term deployment in high availability servers. Small businesses and large enterprises alike will benefit from Onyx Enterprise's lightweight, secure, and stable design. Onyx Enterprise does not have any artificial limitations imposed, and includes a hardened kernel for optimum security. Onyx Enterprise operates on a three year release cycle.
